Having asked developers in the past if it’s possible, they have all said the only way would be to take the MJPEG stream for example, transcode it in-app, and output the m4v to PiP all whole being transparent to the user. I have 5 cameras - 3 of them only support MJPEG, 1 is RTSP m4v and 1 is some obscure Flash stream.Īll of them work with PiP. These guys have figured out a way to PiP any IP camera stream. Why is this important? Because Apple only allow officially supported (primarily m4v) streams to be moved to PiP. Maybe to keep an eye on your baby, or your driveway… Think about it, you’re on twitter, on safari, whatever, but you want to have a little window of your IP camera in the corner of the screen. To this day, they insist it can’t be done. I’ve been asking for PiP functionality for IP camera feeds from EVERY developer for years now. Works well, and will keep subscription if: - iOS 14.5.1 bug where saving an image to photos cases a crash is fixed - camera rotations include 90 an 270 degrees in addition to 180 - jpeg camera stream updates at user configurable interval rather that being static - Apple Watch honours SSL certificate invalid setting I feel that current features should be stable before adding more. I currently pay for pro, but these bugs don’t seem to be being fixed while new features are being added on the higher paid tier. This could be specific to me but I’m not sure. when I try to select cameras that are webcam streams i.e JPEGs the image just goes black. I think it should save straight to camera roll. It tries to save to iCloud - I think - but then some error happens and it can’t access it on iCloud and the snapshot is lost. However there are two issues for me so four to three stars: Still works really well when streaming cameras.
